A Guide to Understanding Gene Keys

Have you heard about Human Design and the Gene Keys? If not, stick with me, friend, I’m about to blow ya mind!

If you've heard of gene keys but don't know what they are, don't worry—you're not alone. When I started working with the Gene keys in my own business (and life) my mind was a puddle of wow mixed with wtf and a side of amazement.

The Gene Keys are a relatively new concept in the field of human design and can be difficult to understand, especially when you get all excited like I did and deep dive into every single thing and try to understand it all in one day. Since I do not want you to go through all the late night, non stop googling and searching to get the goods, I wrote this series of blogs to help you out!

Ok friend, let’s explore what gene keys are, how they work, and why they matter.

What Are Gene Keys?

Gene keys are a system developed by Richard Rudd based on ancient wisdom traditions such as Hinduism and Taoism. They focus on how our genes interact with our environment to create unique patterns of behavior and thinking. Each person's gene key is composed of 64 hexagrams that interact in different ways to form an individual's life purpose. The 64 hexagrams represent universal laws that govern the world around us, from physical laws like gravity to spiritual laws like karma. I know, super cool right? This explains why when you see your unique gene keys in writing, it feels so foreign but soooo right and comfortable.

How Do Gene Keys Work?

Gene keys work by giving us insight into our personal strengths and weaknesses. They let you see first hand what your unique gifts are, your innate strengths and way of operating and interacting with the outside world. They tell us a story and we can gain insight into our own motivations and behaviors. This helps us make better decisions about which paths we should take in life and how best to use our natural gifts and talents. For example, someone with a strong hexagram for creativity may be more likely to pursue a career in art or design than someone who has a weaker hexagram for creativity.

Why Do Gene Keys Matter?

Gene keys matter because they help us understand ourselves better and come on, who doesn’t want to understand themself better? I mean especially when our businesses are literally our whole entire world and heart and soul. If there is something that will make my life easier and way less stressful, SIGN ME UP!

Gene keys not help you on a business level or just on an individual level, but also on a collective level. By understanding the universal laws that govern all of us, we can gain insight into why certain events happen and how the universe works as a whole. I know this can get WOO WOO but when you see that we all have a soul family that we are here to help in our own unique and special way, your stress and fear start to fade and get replaced with thoughts like “my people are here, they are waiting for me to help them, they are on their way to me now.” We can also use this knowledge to make better decisions about our future path in life by tapping into our natural gifts and talents instead of forcing ourselves down paths that don’t suit us or feel right. Buh Bye to marketing and sharing our story from a place of should, and hellooo to marketing that is easy because it is just our version of the truth!

so to wrap this gene key 411 session into a pretty bow…

Understanding gene keys is an important part of understanding your place in the universe as well as your own identity. It can give you insight into your strengths and weaknesses so you can make decisions based on what’s right for you rather than following societal norms or trends that don’t align with who you truly are at your core. Learning about gene keys is an ongoing process but one that can be a heck of a lot more fun when you do it with someone who LIVES for this!
